Columella
Signature Wine

Columella is a blend of Mediterranean red varieties selected for the Swartland's soils and ocean-influenced climate. The wine is made annually from the same nine small vineyard parcels, each contributing its own character to create a true expression of the region. The Columella wine is moulded by the Swartland and not a notion of man. The name honours Lucius Junius Moderatus Columella (4 -70 AD), a Roman writer who authored De Re Rustica, a foundational work on Agriculture. Download Wine Notes Below.
Palladius
Signature Wine

Palladius is a blend of Mediterranean white varieties, selected for the Swartland’s diverse soils and ocean-influenced climate. The wine is crafted from 11 varieties grown across 17 vineyard parcels, making it one of the most distinctive expressions of its kind. Each variety and soil type contributes a layer of complexity and sense of place to this regional wine. The name honours Rutilius Taurus Aemilianus Palladius, a Roman writer of the 4th–5th century AD who authored Opus Agriculturae, another foundational work on Agriculture. Download Wine Notes Below.

Soldaat
District Series Wine

Piekenierskloof of the southern Citrusdal mountains takes its name from the piekeniers (foot soldiers) who once guarded the pass to protect livestock in the old Cape Colony - hence the name Soldaat. This wine is from an old, unirrigated Grenache noir vineyard, planted at 708 meters on weathered Table Mountain Sandstone formations with a gentle eastern slope, and reflects its rugged origin. Pofadder
District Series Wine

Cinsaut was long the workhorse red of South Africa, quietly shaping many of the country’s great blends. This vineyard, on Riebeek Mountain in the Swartland, is grown on slate formations with a high iron content, and the vineyard's exposure and the old age of the vines result in reduced yields and grapes of incredible concentration and texture. Sonvang
District Series Wine

This co-planted vineyard lies on the western slope of the Paardeberg on our home property, capturing the afternoon sun - hence the name Sonvang (“sun catch”). Planted with future-oriented varieties, it is designed for resilience and complexity, where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Planted in 2021 on weathered granite. Kokerboom
District Series Wine

Named for the striking tree aloes near the old vineyard, it comes from. The vineyard was planted in the 1930s, with a mix of Semillon and Semillon Gris at high elevation on iron-rich Table Mountain Sandstone formations in the Trekpoort Valley in the Olifants River Region of Citrusdal. This vineyard is one of 5 historic old “Green Grape - Semillon” vineyards that survived through the past decade and yields wine of incredible complexity. Download Wine Notes Below.
Twiswind

Planted to future-oriented varieties, it is designed for resilience and complexity, where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Skurfberg
District Series Wine

On the Skurfberg (“rugged mountains”) in Citrusdal, an old parcel of bush-vine Chenin Blanc is rooted in weathered sandstone. At high elevation and close to the ocean, with minimal rainfall, the site is both rare and defining. These iron-rich laterite formations produce wines with incredible mineral and stone-fruit expressions. Download Wine Notes Below.
Rotsbank
District Series Wine

Rotsbank (‘Rock Shelf’ in Afrikaans) lies in the Aprilskloof of the Paardeberg in Swartland, rooted in just 30–50 cm of soil over a shallow granite bank. Vines survive by finding cracks in the rock, yielding naturally low and concentrated fruit. First bottled in 2022 after acquiring the site, it is our purest expression of “linear blue steel - type” of Chenin Blanc with minerality and tension and lime zest notes. Download Wine Notes Below.
